Refugees: How can schools support refugee children?

AMCIS is to stage a FREE webinar to consider the question: How can UK independent schools support refugee children?

The online event, on 29 June, will look at the initial admissions process to supporting children and their families once they have joined the schools, as well as helping refugee children in other ways.

Among the speakers participants will hear from will be refugee families, schools with refugee children on their roll, Refugee Education UK, and the Independent Schools Council. The event will be chaired by Irfan Latif, Principal of DLD College London.

AMCIS ceo Tory Gillingham says:
“The war in Ukraine, fast on the heels of events in Afghanistan, has brought these issues to the fore and there is a renewed desire to help among our members. Whilst many schools are old hands at this – whether by welcoming refugee children into their school as pupils, or by taking part in other initiatives and partnerships in the wider community – others are grappling with the best course of action. We hope this webinar will provide useful information.”

Although the online event is free, places must be reserved in advance. For booking and further information, click here.
