AMCIS secures internationally renowned Karen Connell

AMCIS has announced that the internationally renowned brand and marketing speaker Karen Connell will deliver the opening keynote session at its annual conference this spring.

Founder of The SMALLmighty consultancy, Karen Connell’s ambition is to ‘help restore some sense and inspiration to the world’s largest companies by helping them “think small”’. After working for companies such as General Motors, Cadbury’s, Virgin and Schweppes, where she witnessed first-hand how big business does (and doesn’t) work, she said: “After 16 years I was just exhausted watching really smart people including myself do dumb things for an almost pathological obsession for scale that obscured some fantastic opportunities”. In markets including UK, Europe, China, Africa, America and her native Australia, Karen’s “think small” message is now resonating with global giants including Shell, Coca-Cola, Kimberley-Clark, Kraft, Cadbury, Merlin Entertainment, and Johnson and Johnson.

Other keynote speakers will include Channing School headmistress, Lindsey Hughes, who had an early career in PR and event management before entering teaching; digital content entrepreneur and co-founder Matt Thomas; one of Management Today’s 35 Women Under 35, global influencer Jennifer Quigley-Jones; and ISC’s head of research, Jonathan Parkes.

The conference, aimed at all those working in independent school admissions, marketing and communications roles, will take place in the UK this May and is sponsored by UBIQ and Open Applymore info here.
