Marketing Officer

The School seeks to appoint a Marketing Officer, reporting to the Head.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to create and implement a fresh and innovative marketing vision for St Christopher’s. We are looking to appoint a Marketing Officer who will be a graduate with at least two years of marketing experience, ideally within the context of education and with an appreciation of the independent sector. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about their work, be an effective communicator, have experience of managing websites and social media platforms and be able to create engaging digital and print content, by means of imagery, text and video. The successful candidate will be an inspiring and modern-thinking communicator, strategise proactively and pay great attention to detail. It will also be essential to analyse our own marketing activity and marketing trends within the private education sector.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head and the Registrar in leading and co-ordinating the School’s marketing. They will engage with a breadth of stakeholders (staff, pupils, parents, alumnae, partners, media), leading and managing communication campaigns, social media platforms, and projects, such as School publications. They will also work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), supporting School growth.

The School

St Christopher’s School is an independent day prep school for over 240 girls ages 4 to 11. It was founded in 1883 by an enthusiastic educationalist, Miss Roberts, based in her father’s drawing room. It started as a mixed school, but by 1950 it had become primarily a girls’ school. It became known as St Christopher’s School in 1919 when it moved to its current site.

Anyone who has stepped through the gates of St Christopher’s School knows that with its grand wooden staircase, bright open classrooms and constant sense of creativity and warmth, it is, quite simply, magical. There is a welcome balance between the girls reading and singing in the cosy halls of this Victorian house and playing and experimenting in our modern outside classrooms, mud kitchen and playgrounds.

Our staff aim to achieve a balance between creative imagination and academic thinking that spills out from our structured classroom environment into all elements of school life. We not only teach the girls to learn new concepts and problem-solving skills, but enable them to become analytical thinkers who, in all subjects, confidently push the boundaries of learning by asking questions that perhaps have yet to be asked.

Our values are creativity, curiosity, challenge, a sense of community and kindness. Our personalised academic approach lays the groundwork for how they will grow their passion for learning, far beyond primary school. Our inclusive and rigorous curriculum encourages critical thinking and inspires awe and wonder.

By the end of their time at St C’s, our girls are in a position of choice, moving on to a senior school that is right for the young person they will become. Our preparation for 11+ is a positive and rewarding experience.

On top of strong creative arts departments and a variety of sports, our wide range of clubs is crucial to our school experience and the development of core skills. Our rich co-curricular activities offer the girls the space to foster their unique interests, with various opportunities from photography to chess, and to develop a sense of belonging and service. The wellbeing and happiness of our girls is our number one priority. Kindness, thoughtfulness and inclusion are key values in this school. The shared acceptance and encouragement of our pupils allows them to become expressive, confident girls with voices that are never afraid to be heard. St Christopher’s is an ambitious, kind and warm community created through an equal love of intellectual fascination and freedom of creativity. Each of our pupils is unique.

Our girls are celebrated as individuals; they feel supported and challenged, they thrive and are encouraged to be the best version of themselves today and tomorrow.

The School is committed to safeguarding children within its welfare, and safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone who works there.
