External Relations Officer

Required from September 2023

With Admissions thriving and the GDST’s exciting new plan of investment, including new laboratories, Sixth Form Centre and design technology and innovation spaces, this is an exciting time to join Sydenham High School.

The post holder in this key role will implement the School’s external relations strategy and development plan, identifying and working with all stakeholders to enhance the visibility and reputation of Sydenham High.

This role will be essential to the smooth and effective outward-facing functions of the School, notably Marketing, Communications, Admissions and Development. The Officer will play a leading role in building and strengthening relationships with the School’s key constituencies, including prospective families, past and present parents, alumnae, staff and governors.

Taking a lead from the Head and the Director of Marketing and Communications, the post holder will work closely with the Registrar and administrative staff to ensure the thorough organisation and management of events, helping to sustain our successful number of pupil applications and as well as instigating communications, building partnerships and running lower level fundraising campaigns.

The External Relations Officer will occasionally be required to be flexible in their work in order to attend special events which take place outside the normal working day.

The successful candidate will also focus on building and maintaining our alumnae network, whilst supporting the Director of Marketing & Communications and the School as a whole.
