Director of Admissions and Marketing

Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM) opened in 2012 and is a British day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3-18 years set within a beautiful 90 acre campus in the Iskandar region of Malaysia, close to Singapore and Johor Bahru. The College is a member of HMC, and as a non-profit, wholly owned subsidiary is a genuine extension of Marlborough College in the UK. Described as “the only school in Asia offering an authentic British boarding programme”, MCM has a unique story to tell and the post-holder will be at the forefront of explaining this to prospective parents and applicants.

This is an exceptional opportunity and the College seeks an experienced admissions (or sales) and marketing professional to join a senior team of the highest calibre. Reporting directly to the Master, and a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Admissions and Marketing will provide inspiring and strategic leadership of the College’s pupil recruitment, marketing and communications activities.

As a key public face of the College, the successful candidate will have the skills, presence, personality and judgement required to represent Marlborough College Malaysia. The ability to apply sound marketing and communications principles to drive the College’s pupil recruitment strategy, by thoroughly understanding both target audiences and the dynamics of the highly competitive international marketplace will also be essential.

The post will most likely attract an experienced professional from the UK or international education sector with a track record of success in strategic marketing, communications and/or prior exposure to an admissions or pupil recruitment context. Alternatively, the role might suit an exceptional individual with commercial experience gained outside the sector but who can demonstrate an understanding of, and empathy with, international education and the College’s ethos and values, and with the relevant transferable sales and commercial marketing skills to undertake and make a success of this crucial role.
