Digital Marketing Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the executive team at John Lyon School. We are seeking a dynamic Digital Marketing Officer on a permanent basis to provide a high-quality service to the Director of Marketing and Communications and the School.

You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your creative flair by designing vibrant artwork for multiple platforms, creating engaging content for the website and social media, and capturing moments at exciting events. Thinking strategically, you will measure the success of the school’s digital output, get involved with digital advertising campaigns and help improve the website experience.

It is a historic time to join the school, as we have recently become both co-educational and have merged with Quainton Hall, a prep school.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role will help promote the school to a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, including prospective and current parents and pupils, alumni, governors, staff, local residents and local organisations. The object of the role is to assist with all aspects of marketing, focusing on developing digital marketing.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills, a keen interest in the digital world and be capable of prioritising workload to deliver the highest quality products against challenging deadlines.

For the right candidate, there may be some flexibility over whether this role is carried out on a year-round or ‘term-time only plus’ basis (minimum 36 weeks), as well as around the weekly work pattern (days and hours).  Nevertheless, we will also require a flexible approach to working hours from the post holder (for example in support of school events outside of normal school hours), and there may be a requirement to occasionally undertake work at the prep school site.

Salary: £24,000 – £27,000 p.a. depending on skills and experience, and weekly hours/annual working pattern

Hours: 32-40 hours per week, 36 weeks p.a. (term time plus 2 weeks) to year-round

The school’s benefits include:

  • Complimentary lunch during term-time
  • Fees remission for children of staff
  • Use of the school’s sports centre (including swimming pool) at designated times
  • Discount membership to Harrow School’s Golf Club
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Commitment to professional development

Closing date for applications: 12pm on Thursday 31st March 2022

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and an Enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
