Admissions Manager

The Admissions Manager, plays a vital role of increasing pupil numbers at our school. This objective will be achieved by providing a unique and exceptional customer experience that stands out in the market.

The ideal candidate will have a charming personality, instantly connecting and building rapport with diverse individuals, fuelled by a genuine enjoyment from social interactions. With exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to engage sensitively and diplomatically across all levels. Able to adeptly manage multiple stakeholder relationships and thrive within a team. Organisational and administrative competencies must be top-notch, coupled with the ability to maintain composure and deliver under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various database systems is expected, along with a strong attention to detail in all tasks.

Experience in managing direct customer interactions, preferably in sales and customer service. Accustomed to the demands of a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and proficient in utilising customer databases, CRM tools, and digital platforms. Knowledge of the independent schools market would be very beneficial.

Boarding Admissions Assistant

Brentwood Senior School is an academically selective HMC co-educational independent school with small classes and a happy, ambitious, supportive staff team. It is part of Brentwood School, a 3-18 HMC school of approximately 1900 pupils, just 20 minutes from London Liverpool Street.

Our busy and dynamic Admissions Team are seeking to appoint an additional staff member to assist the Boarding Recruitment Manager in the management of the admissions process for boarding applications, from the initial point of enquiry through to student enrolment.

This is an exciting time for boarding at Brentwood, with the development of our new purpose-built state-of-the-art boarding house due to open in September 2025, offering single, ensuite accommodation to 120 students.

Marketing and Admissions Officer

We are looking for a Marketing and Admissions Officer, who will take a key role in implementing the marketing, communications and admissions strategy that primarily focuses on maximising recruitment of pupils to the College whilst also enhancing the school’s relationship with current parents and the local community.

This is an active operational role, supporting the vital work of the College’s and you will support the team with all aspects of recruitment, marketing, communication and retention. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, 2-5 years of marketing/communications experience, a positive attitude and plenty of enthusiasm who is able to work in a busy and varied role, using their own initiative, supporting the Director and Head of Admissions. This role will both assist with the delivery of the admissions process and develop effective marketing materials. It is envisaged that the role will be 50/50 admissions/marketing.

Falcons School
Falcons School, which includes Peregrines Nursery, is a one form entry co-educational setting for girls and boys aged 2-11. The pupils receive high levels of academic education and pastoral care. Aged 11, Falcons pupils sit competitive exams for London and Surrey Day Schools, with a small number of pupils choosing boarding schools. Falcons School can be found in Putney and is in a conservation area.

The Role
As the Head of Admissions, you will be responsible for leading the acquisition and conversion, including the outreach and recruitment events and supporting the retention strategy at Falcons School.

Reporting to the Headteacher and the Director of Customer Acquisition & Experience Europe, you will be enrolment-focused and responsible for the delivery and development of a highly effective acquisition and retention function, one that is responsive to the evolving needs of identified target audiences, grounded in the principles of customer service excellence and the values of the school. The successful candidate will bring innovative thinking and a collaborative leadership style to advise the Headteacher and motivate and empower the Senior Leadership team, resulting in enhanced enrolment and retention outcomes for the school.

The Head of Admissions is expected to have a whole school approach and ensure that they understand the importance of daily school life and school events in relation to termly activities. They will also be expected to attend whole school events to gain a thorough understanding of the academic and pastoral experiences that pupils can expect.

Head of Admissions

We are looking for a Head of Admissions who will take an active strategic and operational role in developing and leading the Admissions department.

This is an exciting time to join Thomas’s College as we head towards the opening in September 2025. This is a newly created and key role that presents an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking admissions or administration professional to be part of the future vision of Thomas’s London Day Schools.

The Head of Admissions will take charge of all aspects of student enrolment and onboarding for our innovative senior school across the year groups. Admissions Officer

The Admissions Officer is a key member of the School’s admissions team. Working closely with the Registrar and alongside the Senior Admissions Officer, they are responsible for ensuring the smooth running and successful completion of the admissions process, from initial enquiry through to the student joining the School.

We seek a confident professional with proven organisational and administrative skills. It is essential that the post holder has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and is able to maintain a high level of efficiency and remain calm under pressure.

The successful candidate will take up the post from September 2024 (or as soon as possible) and will report to the Registrar. This role is for a one year fixed term contract.

To support the Director of Admissions in delivering an efficient and effective admissions service, to provide support for all duties and responsibilities related to the Admissions office. To work with the Director of Admissions to manage the cross-department workload and allocation of tasks. The post holder will lead the departmental team and oversee the admissions process for all year groups.

Working in Admissions, Marketing and Development
The Department is very much at the heart of Lancing activities; we are an energetic and forward-thinking team of talented individuals focused on contributing to the success of Lancing College. Across the team there is extensive engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
Internally, key points of contact are the Head Master and Deputy Heads, Housemasters/Housemistresses, Heads of Department and Co-Curricular teams including Art, Drama, and Music. Whilst Admissions is a non-academic department, there are plentiful opportunities to interact with the student community, both current and incoming.
Externally, members of this team are frequently the first point of contact for visitors and guests, representing the College face to face, on the telephone or across social media. The wider Lancing community of Ols, current parents and parents of former pupils are extremely important to the College, and the Head Master’s Office team is a primary point of contact and information.

The Admissions, Marketing and Development team is managed by Mrs Diana Cree, who has been at the College since March 2016. Mrs Cree reports to the Head Master and sits on the Senior Executive Team for the College.

Job Description
Responsibilities
• To create a positive impression to those seeking information on admission to the school, to manage all visits and communications with prospective parents and to ensure that the registration process is captured in a timely and accurate manner.
• To deal with new pupils from initial contact through to arrival at the school, ensuring that all relevant data is captured at every stage to guarantee accurate reporting.
• To assist in the marketing of the school to prospective parents, prep schools and educational agents.
• To manage the organisation and customer experience for College student recruitment events held on site.
• To attend events for prospective parents and Lancing and externally, Preparatory School events and when agreed international recruitment events.
• To work with the Director of Admissions to develop and maintain strong relations with prep/feeder schools, including managing mailings with Prep Schools regarding Lancing events.
• To manage the administration of entrance assessments, scholarships and additional tests, producing programmes for each individual pupil and manage the post assessment communications with parents.
• To work closely with staff across the College to ensure effective communication and up to date information is available through the recruitment process.
• To work with other members of the staff to affect a customer-friendly transition of pupils to the school following confirmation of a place. This will include managing the distribution of pre-arrival communications (joining instructions) to parents and pre-arrival event planning for New Pupils events.
• To assist in the administration of the Child Student Confirmation of Studies requirements for overseas students.
• Dealing with other issues as determined by the Director of Admissions.
• To work with the Executive Director of External Relations and Communications in the recruitment and admissions process for applications for the Foundationer programme.

Person Specification
Qualifications:
• Educated to minimum GCSE standard in English and Mathematics.
• Training certificate in IT packages – desirable.

Experience:
• Previous experience of working within a school or a good knowledge of the independent education sector would be an advantage.
• Experience of developing and managing events would be an advantage.
• Previous administrative experience including a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft and database management.
• Previous experience of working within a demanding customer service environment.

Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
• IT literacy – particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook.
