Admissions Officer

The Admissions Officer is a key member of the School’s admissions team. Working closely with the Registrar and alongside the Senior Admissions Officer, they are responsible for ensuring the smooth running and successful completion of the admissions process, from initial enquiry through to the student joining the School.

We seek a confident professional with proven organisational and administrative skills. It is essential that the post holder has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and is able to maintain a high level of efficiency and remain calm under pressure.

The successful candidate will take up the post from September 2024 (or as soon as possible) and will report to the Registrar. This role is for a one year fixed term contract.

All staff share the responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the students, in accordance with the School’s safeguarding policies.

Role overview:
We are seeking to appoint an Admissions Registrar to promote, develop and have oversight of the admissions process for all pupils, including international applicants, from initial enquiry to the start date of the new pupil.

The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, be efficient and conscientious, discreet and professional at all times. This person is often the first point of contact for parents and prospective pupils of the school so must demonstrate a professional and confident manner and be able to relate positively to a wide spectrum of people.

The post holder will have line management responsibility for the whole school admissions team. This is a senior position and as such the successful candidate will have proven admissions leadership experience at senior level, excellent communications skills, an innovative mindset, and a alignment with the values and ethos of the College.

A highly organised individual with excellent IT skills is required to play a key role in supporting both the Registrar and wider admissions team in managing the  13+ entry admissions process at St. Edward’s

The Admissions Department is the first point of contact for all families looking for their children to join the School and as a result this role is customer-focused, fast-paced, busy all year round and no two days are the same.

 The Role

The Admissions & Database Officer, together with the Admissions & Events Officer, will jointly manage the admissions process from initial enquiry to the enrolment of pupils, in addition to taking specific responsibility for the admissions database, entrance assessments and interviews.

The Skills

To be considered for this role, suitable candidates will need proven experience in a senior customer facing administrative role, excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to multitask as well as knowledge of working with databases.

The role
This is a newly created hands on role at Oxford High School where you will play a key part in the development and implementation of our new digital strategy, working alongside the Director of Marketing, Admissions and Communications.
Your remit will cover a wide variety of digital marketing and communications functions, from promoting the positioning and reputation of the school, to showcasing our pupils successes and engaging new and existing audiences.
With an eye for a good story, you will create content for a range of audiences to support our objectives and key messaging, via the school website, and social media channels, ensuring these are kept up to date, relevant, and always providing an excellent user experience. You will also act as product owner for the school website and other digital channels.
The role is school based during term time, with some possible flexibility for remote working during holidays.

About you
As an integral part of the Marketing, Admissions and Communications team you will enjoy working as part of a team but will be comfortable working independently and taking initiative to identify solutions and improvements.
You will have proven experience of leading, planning and implementing impactful digital marketing campaigns and developing engaging content, in addition to being comfortable evaluating and assessing the impact of digital activity, using analytics and measurement tools, (i.e. Google analytics 4, Hootsuite, media monitoring tools etc.).
Demonstrable experience of managing digital agencies such as paid social media, PPC advertising, SEO, or content marketing and setting measurable goals to extend reach, increase engagement and enhance reputation..
Excellent editorial and copywriting skills and a proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative, organise, prioritise and actively structure projects will round out your profile.
