Marketing & Communications Manager

St Leonards has been at the forefront of education since its foundation in 1877 and has recently been awarded the title of Scottish Independent School of the Year for Academic Performance. The School is situated in the most unique of positions – only 2 minutes walk from the heart of the vibrant, historic and cosmopolitan university town of St Andrews and 3 minutes walk from the beautiful East Sands beach on the Fife Coast.

The School also boasts of the one best School Golf Academies in the UK, with a specialised Elite Programme for top performing students who wish to gain scholarships to the US.  Being partnered with the St Andrews Links in the ‘home of golf’ this is a very special attraction to many students from around the world.

We are looking to appoint a new Marketing and Communications Manager, reporting to the Head of External Relations and leading the marketing team with creative and dynamic ideas that will raise the profile of the School in target market segments, both locally, nationally and internationally,  There will be some cross-departmental support to Development and Commercial Operations and room for personal development within the organisation.

The postholder will need to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication, organisational skills and a ‘growth mindset’ to be successful in this role.

Director of Development and External Relations

We are seeking a visionary Director of Development and External Relations to drive our long-term strategy, grow our School, enhance our income streams, and extend our local and global reach.

This role supports the School’s clear vision, mission and strategy, and will suit a strategic professional with experience of admissions, development, communications and marketing, with significant stakeholder management and influencing skills.

As our School’s brand champion, the post-holder will be a key collaborative member of the School’s Executive Team, led by the Head, and which compromises: Director of Finance and Operations, Senior Deputy Head, Head of Junior School, Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Deputy Head (Academic). The successful candidate will work particularly closely with the Head and the Director of Finance and Operations.

PR & Marketing Manager

The PR and Marketing Manager will actively uphold the ethos and values of St Leonards School, managing, protecting and projecting the School’s reputation both locally and further afield.

With overall responsibility to deliver the agreed PR and Marketing plan, the PR and Marketing Manager will work towards strategic targets and direction as agreed with the Head of External Relations. This is done by providing key stakeholders, and the broader community, with effective communication, branding and information-sharing concerning St Leonards. The role will involve promoting and raising the profile of the School in target market segments, both locally and internationally, protecting and helping to manage our reputation.

Assistant Registrar (Admissions)




You will have operational responsibility for St Leonards’ student admissions and will work within a plan agreed by the Registrar and Head of External Relations. You will support effective and efficient student recruitment in order to meet the School’s recruitment targets.  You will work with the Registrar to manage and lead the application process for pre-registered and registered parents up to admission. 

You will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, communication, teamwork,  and organisational skills, and also demonstrate a ‘growth mindset’ and a  flexible approach to work. You will be educated to IB Diploma/ A Level/ Highers level and have previous experience of working in a busy office environment, with a  number of stakeholders including overseas organisations.  

The closing date for receipt of a completed application form is Tuesday, 1 June 2021 at 12 noon.
